Our bodies have amazing healing capabilities! We are built to heal. But the body's communication pathways and healing systems are sometimes blocked by stress and trauma.
Have you experienced chiropractic adjustments that won’t hold? Or had repeated adjustments in the exact same spots? There’s a reason your back problems or other health issues keep recurring time & again: the underlying cause hasn’t been resolved!
Let’s work on addressing the root cause.
Spinal Flow Technique is a unique, non-invasive therapeutic method that focuses on the body's innate ability to heal itself. It’s designed to address the nervous system and spinal health by identifying and releasing blockages that may inhibit the body's natural healing processes.
The brain and the nervous system (spinal cord and nerves) communicate with every cell in the human body. Loss of spinal motion and alignment therefore cause a wide array of physical, emotional, and behavioural complaints. Rebalance the nervous system and you will optimize recovery, regeneration and healing. Your body cannot heal when it is in ‘fight or flight’ mode. By promoting optimal communication within the nervous system, your body can shift from ‘fight or flight’ back into ‘rest & digest’, or healing mode.
“Spinal flow” refers to the movement and circulation of fluids, energy, and information within the spinal column and the surrounding tissues. It encompasses the flow of cerebrospinal fluid, blood, lymphatic fluid, and nerve impulses throughout the spine.
Spinal Flow Technique combines elements of chiropractic medicine science, kinesiology and energy healing. It was developed by Dr. Carli Axford, a chiropractor who studied a variety of techniques while working at the Texas Back Institute and around the world. She found such incredible results and benefits that she quit doing traditional chiropractic treatments and completely switched her practice to this new method.
Spinal Flow Technique can benefit the spine by releasing the underlying blockages that can lead to back problems, but it is different from chiropractic treatments. It is incredibly gentle and there are no manual adjustments to the spine or body. There are basically no contraindications. It is safe for everyone from babies to the elderly.

Notice above how her neck appears longer, her face seems brighter, her shoulders are back and more squared up, and her head is better aligned over the shoulders. Look at the writing behind her head-she is actually standing taller! She also commented that people have been asking her if she lost weight.
Each individual is different and each experience is unique. Some have found relief and experienced improvements with:
-Depression and Anxiety
-Chronic pain or stiffness
-Headaches/Migraines
-Fibromyalgia
-Scoliosis
-Posture
-Stress
-Chronic Fatigue/Low Energy
-Sciatica
-Reproductive System Issues
-Digestive Issues
And so much more! The job of spinal fluid is to nourish and cleanse the brain and spine. By improving the flow of the spinal fluid, we enable it to do its job of clearing out unnecessary buildup along the spine much more effectively. Therefore, it can help any number of conditions.
How long do you want to spend getting better? Think about how long it took to get in the shape you're in now. Incredibly, our bodies are so amazing at healing that you can see and feel significant improvements in a matter of a few weeks!

Her shoulders are more level, squared up and back. Her neck is a little longer and her back less hunched. Her head is more aligned over the shoulders.
Scheduling
Spinal Flow sessions are scheduled to maximize improvement and build on progress. This means scheduling at least 2-4 sessions per week. Sessions can be the same day as long as they are 2 hours apart. Around 12 sessions are a great start for most people. Spinal Flow Workshops include 3 sessions per day, as well as other supportive therapies (more details on this here).
Think that sounds like a lot? Imagine what you would do if unexpected company showed up right when you are overwhelmed with other things. Maybe you’d grab up all the excess clutter and hide it in a closet or out of sight! Our bodies basically do the same thing when they can’t keep up with the onslaught of stresses coming their way. And what if this happens over and over? The closets eventually start overflowing into other areas.
With our bodies, this overflow shows up as pain, discomfort, limited mobility, and a host of other things.
And let’s say you decided to hire someone to come in and help you deal with all the current clutter as well as the backlog. If she came once a month and started dealing with the current stuff first, how much progress would she make on the backlog? How long would it take her to catch up? But what if you had her come 2 or 3 times a week? Obviously she will catch up much faster if she comes more often. It’s the same when helping your body deal with the buildup of stresses. Several frequent visits will help you catch up much faster!
Sessions are often in a small group setting. Have you ever been around a grumpy person whose mood always rubs off on others? Or maybe you know a cheerful person and you always feel more upbeat after being around them. Those feelings are infectious. So is healing! Being in a group healing session can be beneficial for all.
Spinal Flow is relaxing, extremely gentle and can be used for babies, children and people of all ages. The procedure itself is much like acupressure and involves light to moderate pressure mainly on the sacrum and tailbone areas. Clients remain clothed during the session. Loose stretchy clothing works best.
Her shoulders are more back and her posture is straighter (she’s leaning back a little in the first picture). Her neck looks longer and she looks slimmer in the last picture.
What You Can Expect
DURING YOUR SESSION
You will stay fully clothed in comfortable, non-restrictive clothing. T-shirts and stretchy clothes like activewear are great choices. (If possible, avoid blue jeans and bulky sweaters.)
A standing posture assessment will be performed. For the majority of the session you will be lying face-down on the treatment table. Seated or side-lying sessions are also possible if you need modifications to positioning.
The practitioner will assess for blockages and apply appropriate pressure to activate your body's self-healing responses. The most powerful points are on the sacrum, coccyx (tailbone) and head.
AFTER YOUR SESSION
After your session, you will probably feel very relaxed and sleep well that night. Allowing time for adequate sleep is important for allowing your body to integrate the changes.
Some people notice positive changes right away. But for most, it takes a little longer. It is not uncommon to experience temporary discomfort after a session as your body adjusts and integrates the healing effects of the session. You might experience soreness, achiness, detoxification symptoms such as breakouts or rashes, emotional changes and more. All these responses are normal and vary between people and even between sessions.
Don't give up if you feel poorly for a day or two! Sometimes it seems to get a little worse before it gets better. Change-even if it's uncomfortable-is a good thing because it shows that you are moving away from the status quo. This means the sessions are working! The following suggestions can help maximize your improvements & minimize discomfort.

EmotionsBe mindful of any emotional releases or shifts that may occur during or after your session. Engage in activities that bring you joy and support emotional well-being
|
Water & FoodSpinal Flow helps release stored chemical stress. Drinking plenty of water after your session can help these chemicals be eliminated from your body. Nourishing foods rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants support your body's healing mechanisms.
|
Maintenance SessionsIncorporating regular Spinal Flow sessions into your wellness routine will help maintain the balance achieved during your initial session. If you do experience temporary discomfort after your session, it just means you need more sessions! This can help give your body extra support to continue healing.
|
In short, rest, take it easy on yourself, eat right, drink your water, and get some follow-up maintenance sessions!
Personal Experience
"I would describe [my 15 year old daughter] as unable to function, she couldn’t go to school, she wasn’t interacting with any peers, she was frozen with anxiety and depression. She was despondent and sad and slept all day.
The treatment started her on her healing journey, gave her hope, gave her a purpose for those weeks the only place she went willingly was to her treatments.
And slowly I saw my girl come back.
She is bubbling with personality, she is back at school, she is always wanting to go out with friends, she went to the Taylor concert with her sister and danced the night away.
She is proud of herself, she stands straighter, she is confident, she laughs and everywhere she goes people comment on her dimples because she is now smiling ALL the time, she was just existing before, now she is living. Am forever grateful Xoxox"
